7 Times Nails Have Embarrassed Us & How to Avoid Them in Dubai

We’ve all been there. We’ve all had those days (or weeks, or months) where our nails just don’t cooperate.

They chip, they break, they peel, and sometimes, they do all three at once! It’s enough to drive a woman insane. But have no fear! We’re here to help you avoid those embarrassing nails fail moments with our handy list of… well… embarrassing moments. So sit back, relax, and enjoy this list of seven times nails have embarrassed us & how to avoid them.

The Fake Nail Fail

We’ve all seen it before. A woman goes to get her nails done and she opts for the fake nails because they look so much nicer than her own. But then, disaster strikes. One of the fake nails pops off at the most inopportune moment, leaving her feeling embarrassed and self-conscious. If you must get fake nails, be sure to get them glued on by a professional and be extra careful with them until they’re ready to come off.

The Splitting Nail F’il

You’re minding your own business, going about your day-to-day life when suddenly, you hear it. That telltale sound of your nail splitting down the middle. It’s so loud that everyone around you can hear it too and they’re all staring at you with that look of pity (or is it amusement?). To avoid this fail, be sure to keep your nails trimmed and filed so that they’re not too long or too short. Also, use a strengthening nail polish if your nails are prone to splitting.

The Painting Fail

We’ve all been there – we’re in a rush to get our nails painted before we need to leave for work/school/a date/etc., and we paint in a hurry without taking the time to do it right. As a result, we end up with polish on our skin or cuticles or even worse – smudges on our freshly painted nails! To avoid this fail, take your time when painting your nails and be sure to use a base coat and top coat for extra protection against smudges.

The Chip Fail

You’re out having a good time with your friends/family/significant other/etc., when you notice it – a chip in your perfect manicure! Not only does it ruin the look of your manicure, but it also makes you feel self-conscious about your hands in general which is just the worst feeling ever. To avoid this fail, be sure to use a high-quality top coat like Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat which will help extend the life of your manicure and prevent chips.

The Peel Fail

You know what I’m talking about – those pesky little pieces of skin that just won’t stay put no matter how much you file them down or apply lotion or whatever else you try. They always seem to end up peeling right off within hours (if not minutes) of doing your manicure which is just so frustrating! To avoid this fail, be sure to exfoliate your hands regularly (I like using Sugar Scrubs) and apply cuticle oil nightly before bedtime. This will help keep your cuticles healthy and hydrated which will in turn prevent them from peeling off prematurely.

The Allergic Reaction Fail

We’ve all heard horror stories about people having allergic reactions to certain ingredients in nail polish or acrylics or anything else used during a manicure/pedicure. And while these stories are few and far between, they do happen which is why it’s always important to test out any new products before using them on your nails (especially if you have sensitive skin). To avoid this failure, simply swipe some of the product in question on a small area of skin (I like using the inside of my wrist) and wait 24 hours to see if there is any reaction before proceeding with using the product on your nails.

At the end of the day, avoiding an embarrassing nail fail comes down to being prepared and taking precautionary measures ahead of time. By following the tips listed above, you can rest assured knowing that you’ll avoid any potential mishaps that could ruin your otherwise perfect manicure!
